(fam.: Acanthogammaridae, size: up to 67 mm, depths: 3-120m)

One of the most spectacular Acanthogammarus. It is a rather scarce species, absent from the Southern basin. It lives on rocky bottoms. Its laterals spines, an anti-predator device against fish (Cottids) are proportionnaly bigger in the young instars.
